Stairs➝Generator Left

The Generator Left smoke from Stairs removes one of the main sightlines into the B-site entrance on Vertigo in CS2. Paired with a CT Spawn smoke or coverage on the other side of Generator, it creates a wall that lets the entry climb, clear close positions, and reach a plant. Throw it after your team has secured B Stairs so the lineup does not leave the pack a player short during the opening fight.
